FOUNDEr of the considered collection, art advisor JENNIFER MCCLOSKEY brings over sixteen years of experience to her personalized collecting strategies for private individuals and corporations. THE CONSIDERED COLLECTION WAS ESTABLISHED ON her STEADFAST BELIEF IN THE POWER OF ACQUIRING ART WITH PURPOSE AND MEANING. IT IS THIS BELIEF THAT INFORMS her ENTIRE CONSULTANCY, BUILDING STRATEGIES WITH A SINGULAR FOCUS ON her CLIENT’S NEEDS AND CONNECTING THEM TO ART IN THE MOST PERSONALIZED WAY POSSIBLE.
Ranging from a single piece to building an entire collection over time, guidance and education are the cornerstones of Jennifer's process. She has a deep appreciation for the joy that comes from collecting, as a self described art addict, Jennifer understands what it’s like to live with art that inspires you. She works with her clients on every level, including acquisitions, divestments, collection management, framing & installation, conservation and art philanthropy. Prior to opening The Considered Collection, Jennifer built an independent career in the art world after graduating from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in 2003.
Adapting to the shifting buying habits of clients as the industry changed, she watched as buyers tried to navigate brick & mortar galleries, the nonstop art fair circuit and a diversified flood of online channels on their own. Unable to differentiate between fine and commercial art, and investment-worthy and mediocre-quality pieces, Jennifer began to see a pattern: buyers overwhelmed by the sheer volume of art and their own lack of expertise in acquiring art were making uniformed purchases, or not buying at all. Identifying a clear need in the marketplace, Jennifer launched The Considered Collection to use her talents and expertise to address these gaps.
